jul.
On Monday, police returned the foot to Rubottom after taking him to the hospital, where he signed a release allowing them to see his medical records.
WTF?!?!?!?!??? Why did they need to see his medical records???? I would think it would be pretty easy to determine that the guy did, in fact, have a foot amputated, therefore the odds are that the foot they found on his property is his!!!
This is not a case for Columbo, for crying out loud.

edited to add: I think the guy should consider suing the cops for mental anguish or something, just because they are that dumb.

a congregation here in the uk had so many cases of m.e (chronic fatigue) that it was labelled as the jehovahs witness disease.
i must say that in my old cong.
and locally in other congs., there was an abnormally high percentage of people with this problem.why do you think this was the case?????
I agree with elsewhere on the cognitive dissonance being a factor, having to believe that "the end is so close", when its obviously not any closer now than it ever was.
Deep down, I think they know its a lie, but to admit that would mean admitting they have wasted years, perhaps decades of their life on chasing a fantasy.

here is a list of governing body (gb) members who are alive today.. which of them do you think will still be around in 2014?.
carey w. barber (1905-).
john e. barr (1913-).
So lets do some math, see what their ages would be in 2014....
Carey Barber 109
John Barr 101
Samuel Herd 79
Ted Jaracz 89
M. Stephen Lett 65
Gerrit Lösch 73
Guy Pierce 80
Albert Schroeder 103
David Splane 70
Daniel Sydlik 95
That's only 10 names, are we missing any?? Very doubtful that Barber, Barr and Schroeder will be around.
And of course there will probably be a few new appointees between now and then....

jehovah's witnesses demand complete opening of finacial records to public!
they want to see where the money is going and since the governinng body is the head part of the faithful and discrete slave they should humbly and willingly comply in the intrests of christian unity.
what if someone started a champiagn like that were they sent emails and letter to circulate throughout the entire brotherhood.
Frankie, spellchecker is your friend, dude.
Not trying to be a ass, but you have like 7 misspelled words in the first post!

song 49.
10 min: local announcements.
selected announcements from our kingdom ministry.
20 min: "Reaching as Many People as Possible."*
20 minutes to cover what, a one page article that could be summed up in about 3 sentences. I used to dread being assigned one of these parts, trying to figure out how the heck I could drag it out for 20 whole minutes...

so it has become habit for me to go out of my way when driving to make sure i can give it the finger as i drive by.
i especially like to do this on the way to one of my favorite bars, especially on meeting nights just so people who knew me can see me do it.
i don't know why, but this has become a tradition of sorts.
Oh I definitely give the salute whenever I drive by a Kingdom Hall!
I probably went too far though, when I shared this fact with my loyal JW mom. oopsies...

i have heard rumors on here and other places that jw's are now allowing birthdays to be observed/celebrated.
is this true?
i hope so.

There is no new stance on B-days, they are still considered a paganistic custom, non-christian based. There is nothing in the bible that supports them, and the only evidence of them in the bible leads to the death of someone, and there was never a mention of them ever being celebrated by Jesus the son of god. A wedding aniversary has no paganistic backrounds.
Have you even read the rest of this thread?? There is nothing in the Bible that supports wedding anniversaries either, or Piñatas or luaus either, so why are they permitted?
btw, welcome to the board, stick around and you will learn a lot.
